Wagner & VESDA
Air sampling fire detection.
Early warning, discreetly integrated.
We install and maintain Wagner and VESDA air sampling systems for homes and businesses across Surrey, Sussex, London and beyond.
How air sampling works
Also called aspirating smoke detection, the system continuously draws air through small sampling points and a network of pipes to a sensitive detector. The detector checks the air for smoke particles and signals the fire alarm system when the configured alarm threshold is reached.
This active sampling can provide early warning of a developing fire. The pipe layout and sensitivity are designed around the building and its environment.
Designed to be discreet
Where the building allows, pipework can be concealed above ceilings, with small sampling points providing detection in the room. Fine capillary tubes can connect these points to the pipe network, helping preserve the appearance of carefully designed interiors.
The detector unit can be located in a suitable accessible service area. The discreet part is the sampling point in the occupied space; the main equipment still needs room and access for maintenance.

VESDA
Air sampling detection with a central detector unit.

Installation and ongoing maintenance
We install new systems and maintain existing Wagner and VESDA installations. Contact us about planned servicing, faults or changes to your building. We assess the equipment, sampling pipework and available records to agree the work needed for your system.

Start with the building, not the equipment.
A family home, an office and a managed block can have very different fire alarm requirements. We begin by understanding the property, how it is occupied and the information available for the project. For business and managed premises, share your fire risk assessment and any fire strategy or specification so the design can be coordinated with those requirements.
New installations and system upgrades
Whether you are fitting out a property, replacing an ageing panel or extending an existing system, we can discuss a suitable route forward. A survey helps identify the equipment already installed, available cabling, access arrangements and the practicalities of carrying out the work.
System options to discuss
- Conventional systems for projects where a zoned approach is appropriate.
- Addressable systems where identifying individual devices is valuable.
- Wireless or hybrid options where cabling and disruption need careful consideration.
- Domestic detection for homes, considered separately from commercial systems.
Installation, handover and ongoing care
We agree the scope and access arrangements before work starts. At handover, understanding the controls and the information for your system matters just as much as the installation itself. We can also discuss maintenance and support, so you know who to contact as your needs change.
Residential and commercial projects
Speak to us about homes, offices, shops, schools and managed premises across Surrey, Sussex and London. If you are unsure what system is needed, let us know what the building is used for and what prompted the enquiry. We will explain what information is needed before proposing a solution.
Fire alarm questions
Can you look after a fire alarm installed by someone else?
Yes, contact us about a takeover assessment. We need to review the system, its condition and available records before confirming support and any work required.
Will the whole system need replacing?
Not necessarily. The condition, compatibility and suitability of the existing installation need to be assessed first. A survey helps establish whether an upgrade or replacement is appropriate.
What should I send before a survey?
Your address, property use, drawings if available, the panel make and model, and a description of the work. For managed or commercial premises, include any relevant assessment or specification.
