What cookies and browser storage do
Cookies are small files stored by a website in your browser. Local storage can remember a setting between visits; session storage normally lasts for the current browser tab. These technologies can be essential to a requested feature or optional, such as analytics.
Essential preference storage
We store your choice in local storage under sfs-cookie-choice-v1 for up to 180 days. This records whether you allow or reject optional chat, the time of your choice and the policy version. It is used only to apply your privacy choice, and is not sent to us for advertising. If browser storage is unavailable, your choice applies only to the current page.
Optional Stitch chat and Google Analytics
When you allow chat and open it, we load the Stitch/msgboxx widget from cdn.msgboxx.io and request the SOUTHERNFIRE settings from api.msgboxx.io. The widget uses the session storage key WAConfig for its configuration, with an account-specific suffix. It also loads Google Analytics using measurement ID G-QKVCDW7QCW to measure widget interactions. Google Analytics may set _ga and _ga_* cookies to distinguish browsers and maintain session information; its default cookie duration is up to two years, although provider settings and browser restrictions can change this. These are optional and are not loaded by our site before acceptance. Google and the chat providers may receive browser, device, IP address and interaction information. Withdrawing consent
Select Cookie settings and Reject optional cookies. This stops chat on this site by reloading the page without its scripts, clears its configuration from session storage and removes accessible Google Analytics cookies on our domain. Your rejection is remembered for up to 180 days. Cookies set on other domains cannot be deleted by our website; use your browser’s privacy controls to manage those. Withdrawal does not erase messages already sent or undo processing that took place before withdrawal.
Other services you choose to use
Our enquiry form sends you to FormSubmit, whose spam checks may use Google reCAPTCHA. Those providers control storage on their pages; you can telephone or email us instead. Our crime search sends the entered postcode to Postcodes.io, requests public police data and loads map tiles from OpenStreetMap. We do not use those searches to create advertising profiles or store your postcode in cookies. Hosting and security services may use storage needed to deliver or protect the site. Follow the privacy information for these features.
Browser controls and contact
